Help to raise vital funds for the Every Player Counts project

Wigan Athletic Community Trust are looking to enter a team of runners into the Wigan 10k on Sunday 3rd September 2017 to raise funds for the Every Player Counts project.

Supporters wishing to run with Community Trust staff will receive free entry into the race and will also be given a free Latics t-shirt to take part in.

The Every Player Counts project sees coaches from the Community Trust visit schools in Wigan on a weekly basis to provide free football and sports coaching for disabled people. The scheme also allows the Trust to run two disability teams, provide training opportunities and evening sessions at Wigan Youth Zone.

The project has been a real success in Wigan since its launch in October 2016, with over 200 young people with disabilities involved in sessions this year.

Each runner will be asked to raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship for the Every Player Counts project, and the person who raises the most money will win hospitality for two people to a home game next season courtesy of the Community Trust.

If you are interested in running with the Community Trust team, please email
