Latics fans showed their continued support for The Brick, the club’s charity of the season, at Saturday afternoon’s game against Bradford City.
The fixture against the Bantams marked the start of a food bank being located in the club’s Family Zone at the DW Stadium for every home weekend game this season, with supporters donating food and toiletries to help people in Wigan affected by poverty and homelessness.
The Brick help people living on the streets and in poverty to rebuild their lives, and support over 400 people every month by offering them food, shelter and training.
Kathleen Pitt, Chief Executive of The Brick, said: "The donations received at Saturday's game were incredible and we're so thankful to the Latics supporters for their kind generosity. The support the charity have received from the club's fans since the launch of the partnership has been brilliant.”
Supporters wishing to support The Brick on match days can do so in the Family Zone in the East Stand for the remainder of the 2017/18 campaign.
Jonathan Jackson, the club’s Chief Executive, said: “The food bank’s success in the Family Zone was great to see and I’d personally like to thank the club’s supporters for their donations and would urge even more fans to contribute throughout the season.”
