With the support of Wigan Athletic and parkrun, The Brick charity's '5k for 5k' run will return on Saturday 9th December at 9am at Haigh Woodland Park.

The Brick are looking for 100 supporters to run or walk the 5k course in their favourite festive jumper or full Santa suit and to help raise £5,000 to rebuild lives across the Wigan borough - that's just £50 per supporter.

The first 100 sign-ups will receive a pair of match tickets to the Wigan Athletic vs Fleetwood Town fixture on Saturday 9th December, while two hospitality tickets will be awarded to the supporter who raises the most funds.

Janet Mitchell, Fundraising and Business Engagement Manager for The Brick, said: “We are so grateful to Wigan Athletic and Jenna Taylor from parkrun for supporting this year’s 5k for 5k run. We are urging the people of Wigan and Leigh to get behind the event to make sure no person is left behind this Christmas.”

Jonathan Jackson, Wigan Athletic Chief Executive, said: “The support shown to The Brick by the club’s fans so far has been outstanding. We’re delighted to support the 5k for 5k to raise vital funds at a time of the year that can be particularly difficult for people who face poverty or even homelessness in Wigan and Leigh.”
