Wigan Athletic’s Supporter Liaison Officers, Jason Taylor and Ian Wadsworth, have been nominated for the 2017 Football Supporters’ Federation (FSF) Supporter Liaison Officer of the Year award.

Going up against their counterparts from Grimsby Town, Leicester City, Middlesbrough, Millwall and Preston North End, Ian and Jason will find out whether they have been successful at the awards ceremony being held on Monday 4th December at the Tower of London.

Latics have a history of success at the annual awards ceremony, being one of only four clubs to have received the “Away Day of the year” award, for their continued dedication to improving customer service and experience.

On hearing the news of Ian and Jason’s nomination, Latics’ Head of Business Development and Customer Experience, Jonty Castle, said:

“Our Supporter Liaison Officers (SLOs) are an integral part of building and developing the club-supporter relationship.

“Ian and Jason have proved to be great SLOs for our supporters with their passion for the role, and for Wigan Athletic, really shining through in their work. Both have been Wigan Athletic fans for many years, and we are delighted that their hard work is being recognised”

“Our SLOs have been hugely influential in the introduction of the female focus groups we have held at Wigan Athletic, to ensure the club is communicating with all areas of the community, and looking at ways to improve the experience of our fan base”

“We wish Ian and Jason the best of luck at the awards ceremony in December, and would like to thank them for all of their efforts”
