Wigan Athletic's under-18s won for an eight consecutive game on Saturday afternoon when they beat Tranmere Rovers U18 2-1 at Christopher Park.

After falling behind on 27 minutes to a George Nugent goal for the visitors, Latics missed opportunities to reply immediately through Mwiya Malumo and James Berry.

However, the got level 16 minutes from time when Emeka Obi headed home Joe Downey's corner.

Five minutes later, the game was turned on its head as Malumo played in Charlie Jolley, who finished calmly.

Another good win for Chadwick's side, who face Bury next in the Second Round of the FA Youth Cup - details of this game to be confirmed in the next 24 hours.
