We can confirm that long-standing Head of Media and Player-Liaison Ed Jones has left Wigan Athletic.
Following an administrative restructure at the club, Ed leaves with our best wishes after 11 years’ service.
Ed first joined Latics in 2006. He became Head of Media in 2009 and during his time has managed the club’s external communications via the official website, social media channels, local and national media.
Jonathan Jackson, Chief Executive, said: “Ed has been an integral part of Wigan Athletic for over a decade and the club‘s communications have been in safe hands during that time. It is difficult saying goodbye to a member of staff who has given so much and been a committed member of the team for so long. We thank him for all the hard work he has put in over the years, and I am sure that his talents and experience will be utilised in new opportunities.”
Ed said: “Since moving to the area in 1985, Latics has been my club and although it is sad to leave, my feelings for the place will never go away. It’s been an amazing journey since 2005, experiencing all the highs and lows of the Premier League, the FA Cup, the Europa League and then bouncing back in League One. I thank the club for the opportunities I have been offered and will now move on to new challenges. I wish everyone here all the very best for the future and will always remain a fan of my football club.”
