PC ON SHREWSBURY AND CHARLTON GAMES
There’s always a different kind of emotion and feeling after losing a game and it’s almost as if people have done something drastically wrong, but in football you’re going to get beaten and have bad days, that’s just part of the process. The most important thing is that we want to play well, and I feel that if you play well then you’ll normally get the right result, and certainly on Tuesday we did that.

When we looked back over the stats for last Saturday’s game we worked harder at Shrewsbury than what we did at Charlton, yet we’re always looking for a fine line that will tell us exactly why we lost. The reason why teams lose sometimes is because that’s football, and the harder you try the worse it gets. Tuesday night was a very, very clinical performance, but like Shrewsbury we move on now.

PC ON THE NEXT FEW GAMES
We’ve just got to keep going now over the next few weeks. One of our better performances was against Portsmouth but we ended up with a man sent off and drawing the game, so in a heartbeat then you go two games without a win and suddenly there’s a little bit of pressure on the Charlton fixture, but that’s the way football is now.

PC ON BRISTOL ROVERS
I think tomorrow’s game will be a good one. Darrell’s done an exceptional job there since the relegation to the Conference and then getting back to back promotions before finishing last season a place or two outside the play-off places. This year now, though, they’re in that position of thinking how do they kick on? Is kicking on going into the Championship or is kicking on changing the squad to try and go there, but that’ll be for Darrell to decide amongst his staff and players.

He always gets the best out of the players he has and are always an exceptionally difficult game. They score goals and have got a fantastic record under Darrell as manager, so it’ll be a tough one for us for sure.

PC ON PREPARATION FOR BRISTOL ROVERS
We got back about 4am on Wednesday morning so they had the day off and then reported in at lunchtime yesterday. There will always be reactions from those journeys, but preparation for this game is good and the lads will then be in on Sunday preparing for the Northampton game on Tuesday night. The games are coming thick and fast and all we can do is manage from game to game and do what we think is correct.

PC ON THE FANS’ SUPPORT
It was great to have so many travelling fans at Charlton. The support so far has been terrific, but I will always say that we will have our dips and that’s when we’ll need the fans the most. It’s great to support your team when they’re winning, but it’s at moments like Shrewsbury when we haven’t done so well that we really see the character of our support.
