  • Jamie Jones makes home debut in Bristol Rovers
  • Jones delighted to keep clean sheet
  • “We did the preparation and it came off.” – Jones on penalty save

Jamie Jones was delighted after making his home debut for Latics and helping the team to three points against Bristol Rovers.

JJ ON THE PENALTY SAVE
Yes it was an important time of the game, about 15 minutes to go and if they’d scored that it would have been backs against the wall, it was a really important save and I’m delighted to get it and help the team out

JJ ON KEEPING CONCENTRATED
That’s life at Wigan Athletic, there’s games when I’m not busy but there’s other games when I am busy so concentration is massive, you’ve got to keep it to the maximum level and do your job when need be

JJ ON PLAYING IN THIS TEAM
We probably didn’t play our best but 3-0 today is a good result and we hope there’s a lot more to come.

JJ ON BUILDING A RUN
We said after Shrewsbury that the disappointment could give us that lift together as a team and we are really pushing on to win games again and that’s what we’ve done now so long may that continue.

JJ ON GAVIN MASSEY
It took a while to get going but it’s like buses now and we’re made up for him. He works hard on the training ground with Anthony Barry and they’re reaping the rewards now

JJ ON HOME FORM
We need to make this our fortress and win every game we can and that’s what we’ve done today once again.

JJ ON PREPRATION PAYING OFF
The analysis team we’ve got here are great, we work on video clips of penalty takers and where they might and might not go and it’s great we can reap the reward. They can take some of the credit, not all of it though.
