Latics made it back-to-back cup victories on Tuesday afternoon thanks to a late goal from Charlie Jolley in a 2-1 win against Burnley in the Lancashire FA Youth Cup semi-final.
It means Latics have booked their place in cup finals in their last two matches, with Jolley also on target in Saturday's 5-0 thumping of Hartlepool United to earn a spot in the EFL Youth Alliance final against Luton Town.
Jolley, who netted his 16th goal of the season to win the match, was in the thick of the action from the off, chipping Burnley stopper Adam Bruce, with the ball landing agonisingly wide of the mark, before a second effort inside the opening ten minutes was cleared off the line by Scott Wilson.
Latics keeper Jordan Perrin proved to be in fine form from the opening stages, pulling off an outstanding save to deny Marley Blair following the young Claret's dancing run and powerful effort.
Shortly before half time Latics grabbed the lead when Will McGuffie scrambled the ball over the Burnley line from captain Joe Downey's free kick, the perfect way to head into the break.
It was an even contest throughout between two highly competitive teams, but it took untuil the 82nd minute for the game's second goal, when Burnley substitute Dylan Meredith saw his free kick deflected beyond Perrin for 1-1.
Latics have been on fire this season, and few more so than match-winner Jolley, who netted his 16th goal in all competitions with a close range finish to clinch victory in the dying moments.
Preston North End or Oldham Athletic await in the final, with Latics in a confident mood having already dumped out Bolton Wanderers and Morecambe.
