This weekend’s fixture against Rotherham United is being designated to the Armed Forces community – and there’s plenty going on during the day!

As part of the club’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community in Wigan, two free tickets for the game will be offered to current and former Armed Forces service people.

From 11am-1pm, a special six-a-side football tournament will be held at Robin Park Arena for participants of the Community Trust’s Football 4 Forces project.

At 1pm, the Football 4 Forces Family Zone will open in the players’ car park, with a range of free activities led by different parts of the Armed Forces. Activities will include displays from the British Army, Royal Marines and local military groups, while youngsters can enjoy a climbing wall, face painting and football inflatables with refreshments and an outside bar available until 3pm.

From 1.30pm, representatives from the Armed Forces and Wigan Council will arrive at the stadium, while members of the Sea Cadets and the Football 4 Forces scheme will be bucket collecting.

Five minutes before kick-off at 2.55pm, The Red Devils, the official parachute display team of the British Army, will parachute into the stadium and present the match ball to the officials, while at 3.45pm the Royal Marines will deliver the Armed Forces Covenant to club Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson which will be re-signed at 3.50pm.

To claim your two free tickets email by stating your name, address, phone number, email address and service number. You will then be able to collect your tickets from the Ticket Office on match day. All requests must be made by 1pm on Friday April 13th 2018.
