Wigan Athletic captain Samy Morsy has been called up to Javier Aguirre's Egypt national squad for the forthcoming 2019 African Cup of Nations qualifier against Niger on Saturday 8 September.
The 26-year-old continues to represent Latics on the international stage following his inclusion in Egypt's 2018 FIFA World Cup squad and excellent performance as a substitute in the competition's opening match against Russia.
Egypt will be taking part on their second game of Group J of the African Cup of Nations qualifying round two, having narrowly lost 1-0 against Tunisia in the opening game in June. Following September's clash with Niger, the Pharaohs will face Swaziland in a double-header in October.
Morsy, who has featured in all four of Latics' Sky Bet Championship matches so far this season, has six caps for Egypt.
