“I have got myself in good condition and can’t wait to get back to playing regular football.”

Latics kick-off their Championship season this weekend and Gibson says the dressing room is excited to get started.

“Training has been at a really good standard throughout pre-season and ultra-competitive,” Gibson added.

“I have played in the Championship and know what a tough league it is but I sense a really hungry squad here, determined to do well for the manager and the fans.”
