Wigan Athletic are delighted to confirm the return of Wales international Lee Evans to the DW Stadium, initially on loan, prior to a permanent move being signed on 1 January 2019.
The 24-year-old penned a loan deal with Latics late on Transfer Deadline Day and will link up with Paul Cook’s squad immediately.
Evans, who joins Latics from Sheffield United, will make his move permanent on 1 January 2019 and will sign a two-and-a-half year deal.
Capped three times by Wales, Evans scored three goals in 23 appearances for Latics last season in a loan spell from Wolves, prior to signing for Sheffield United.
Speaking about Evans, Latics boss Paul Cook said:
“We loved working with Lee last season and our supporters know all about the quality he brings to our squad.
“Lee played quite a few games in the Championship last season and is involved with the Wales squad as well, so he has great pedigree and we hope he picks up where he left off here at the DW Stadium.”
