EARLY TEAM NEWS

The Baggies saw two welcome returns to action in their 4-0 victory away at Rotherham United last Saturday, with James Morrison and Hal Robson-Kanu appearing as second half substitutes.

Morrison (muscle fatigue) and Robson-Kanu (jarred knee) have both been out for two matches.

Centre back Kyle Bartley has been out for the last seven matches with a knee problem, but has returned to full training and is set to be available over the busy Christmas period.

It's been good news for Paul Cook in recent weeks with regards to injuries, as we saw Gavin Massey make his long-awaited come back from a hamstring problem that has seen him missing since the end of August, whilst Chey Dunkley, who had a knee operation, has also featured in the last two match day squads.

Nick Powell (hamstring), Michael Jacobs (hamstring) and Antonee Robinson (ankle) remain sidelined, but Jacobs is back in training and could return before the New Year. Powell is expected to be back in contention by the end of January, with 'Jedi' looking at a February return.

Striker James Vaughan was forced off during Latics' last outing against Birmingham City, and it is yet to be seen whether he'll have shaken off the problem in time for Boxing Day.

Christian Walton is set to make his 100th career league appearance, whilst Dan Burn will be joining the Wigan Athletic 100 club should he continue in defence.
