THE BRICK IN URGENT NEED OF FOOD AND TOILETRY DONATIONS AHEAD OF THE CHRISTMAS PERIOD

Representatives from The Brick will have a food donation van located outside the South East corner of the DW Stadium on Saturday.

Wigan Athletic’s official charity of the season – The Brick – are in urgent need of food and toiletry donations ahead of the festivities and Latics supporters are being encouraged to show their support at this Saturday’s fixture against Derby County at the DW Stadium.

The Brick – who help people facing homelessness, poverty and debt crisis across Wigan and Leigh - will be present at the game where a food donation van will be located outside the South East corner of the stadium for fans to bring items such as meat or vegetable soups, tinned peas, carrots and potatoes, stew, gravy granules, stuffing mix, Christmas cake and mince pies.

In addition, gifts for teenagers and young children can also be donated this weekend, with examples of ideas including toiletry gift sets, socks, pyjama sets and toys.

The Brick’s Christmas donation drive will take place at Wigan Athletic Community Trust Montrose Skills Hub base (WN5 9XN) from Monday 17th - Friday 21st December 2018, where staff and volunteers from the charity will be packing more than 150 Christmas hampers. Donations can be taken between 9.30am-5pm on any of these dates.

Representatives from The Brick will also be bucket collecting before Saturday’s game to raise vital funds for the charity, so please give generously on your way to the match.

Full list of items that fans can donate:

Food

Christmas cake/Christmas pudding, mince pies, stuffing mix, gravy granules, tinned peas, potatoes and carrots, meat or vegetable soups, hotdogs, meatballs, mine, stew, tuna/salmon, chocolates and biscuits.

Gifts

Toiletry gift sets, socks, pyjama sets and toys.
