The Brick – Wigan Athletic’s official charity partner for the 2018/19 season - are looking for 100 volunteers to join them on Saturday 22nd December 2018 for the Christmas 5K parkrun to raise £5,000 to help rebuild lives across the Wigan Borough - that's just £50 per supporter.
The festive initiative will start at 9am and is once again supported by Latics who are giving the first 100 people who sign-up to the parkrun two tickets to the game against Birmingham City at the DW Stadium on Saturday 22nd December (kick-off at 3pm).
Latics boss Paul Cook said: “We’re delighted to be supporting The Brick for a second season and the parkrun will be another great event. I’d urge as many Latics fans as possible to take part in the run as it’ll be a perfect way to warm-up before our game with Birmingham later that afternoon!”
Louise Green, Chief Operating Officer for The Brick, said: “We are asking the people of Wigan and Leigh to join us on our festive parkrun to make this year’s run a truly memorable event. I want to thank Wigan Athletic for their support for a second year, all the organisers at Haigh Woodland parkrun for all of their help and of course to our supporters who have already signed up.
She added: “Join us in a full Santa suit, dressed as an elf or in your favourite Christmas jumper. The more festive the better, as we want to make this year’s run the best yet!”
You can set up a Just Giving page to collect your sponsor money and share the details with your friends and family. Any children under the age of 11 must be accompanied by an adult and any dogs must be kept on a short lead.
