- Jolley scored Latics' second in their 2-1 win at Molineux in the FA Youth Cup.
- Now on a pro contract, Jolley is joint leading scorer with 17 goals.
Speaking to iFollow Latics alongside Under 18 captain Scott Smith, striker Charlie Jolley discussed his side's 2-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the FA Youth Cup at Molineux.
Now Latics' joint leading goal scorer with Kyle Joseph on 17 goals, Jolley recently signed a professional contract with the club, and insisted things just keep getting better for him and the team.
“We were all made up, it was close to half-time so getting that second goal before half-time gives you abit of breathing space, so we were all buzzing, as you might see on the photos.
“I’m made up, not just to score, but it’s about the team win and we were brilliant.
“There was plenty of chances, we could have killed the game earlier on, especially with the ten men.
“The score-line in the end probably didn’t reflect how we played, we could’ve had one or two more in the end.”
Talking about the attacking options and the competition within the squad, Jolley continued:
“I think the 18-game unbeaten run speaks for itself, the amount of goals we’ve scored shows the strength we have within the group.
“We’ve got talented players on the bench in James Berry, Kyle (Joseph) and Mitchell (Culshaw) which is tough for them because they’re doing everything possible, but we as a group have to keep taking our chances when they come and keep impressing.”
