Speaking to iFollow Latics after Monday night's heroics in the Emirates FA Cup, match-winner Will Grigg heaped the praise on his team mates after the 1-0 victory over Manchester City at the DW Stadium.
"It's not been too bad, it was a nice easy game for us," Grigg joked.
"It was a massive night for the club and a hell of a performance from the lads. It's one of those nights to enjoy, but it's a quick turnaround and we must focus on Rochdale now.
"We knew it was going to be a tough night, but we had to go out and enjoy the occasion.
"You could sense after the first 15 minutes that both sides were in a good game, and it was never going to be an easy task for Manchester City.
"We knew that we were going to have a spell and some chances during a period of the game. I couldn't stop thinking about the chance I had in the first half. I got into a good position and when I hit it I thought it was in, but I dragged it a little.
"I knew if I got another chance I'd back myself to put it away, and fortunately I did.
"They're the best team in Europe at the moment, so we knew it was going to be difficult, even when they went down to 10 men.
"They dominated the ball and they created chances, it was just a case of when we got our chance we had to take it.
"I managed to get the goal at a great time and to be fair to the lads it's an unbelievable performance all round.
"We defended for our lives, especially in the last 10 minutes and everyone has to take credit for that.
"I didn't have the energy to celebrate. I took in the moment, it was something special to me to be able to look up at my family and take the occasion in."
