Wigan Athletic's latest January addition James Vaughan says he is delighted to make the move to the DW Stadium and is keen to secure his first-ever promotion.
Speaking to iFollow Latics after completing his move, Vaughan admits he can't wait to get underway - starting against Peterborough United on Saturday.
"I am delighted," Vaughan said. "It's a great club that is high in the league and I am hoping I can help out in the promotion push.
"I want to help the team and, first and foremost as a striker, that means goals, but I'll work as hard as I can and hopefully that contributes to getting three points.
"The manager has been really positive; he has told me to do what I have been doing, work hard and everything else will take care of itself.
"I want to try as hard as I can, put myself about and try and get on the end of things and get a few goals - hopefully that's enough.
"As a striker, you want your team to create chances and you have seen this season how many goals have been scored by the team.
"I just want to get going as quickly as possible; the team is doing fantastic and I just hope I can add to that.
"It is going to be a great experience; battling every week to try and get promotion and you have seen how the lads have started so I want to join in with that and get there together."
A friend of Gary Roberts and former colleague of Jamie Jones at Everton, Vaughan says his connections have spoke highly of Latics.
"I have known Jamie Jones since I was a little kid and everyone I have spoken to about the place hasn't had a bad word to say about the club," he continued.
"I think it will be a great fit and I am really looking forward to it.""
