Wigan Athletic are delighted to confirm the signing of forward Jamie Walker from Hearts.
Walker, 24, has signed for Latics for an undisclosed fee and joins Paul Cook’s side on an initial two-and-a-half year deal until the summer of 2020.
Edinburgh-born Walker has won a number of youth international caps for Scotland up to under-21 level and has featured 176 times in all competitions for Hearts, scoring 43 goals.
Walker’s 11 league goals in 2014-15 saw him help Hearts to the Scottish Championship title, whilst in 2016-17 he scored 12 times in the Scottish Premiership, winning the Hearts’ supporters Player of the Year award for his efforts.
On arriving at the DW Stadium, Walker said:
