Paul Cook spoke to the press on Friday morning at Euxton, as his side prepare to host West Ham United in the Emirates FA Cup Fourth Round.
Speaking about the draw itself, Cook said:
"The draw is exciting, it’s such a big club coming to the DW Stadium, it’s a very attractive tie and we are all very much looking forward to it.
"It’ll be a good game, a good football match for people to view and I imagine there will be plenty of goals in the game."
As the fixtures begin to build up for Cook's side, the boss added he was pleased with the way his players are continuing to find results.
"Our lads have been playing well for a period of time now," Cook explained. "We have little dips in form like everyone, but that’s due to the high standards the players have set and it is difficult to keep reproducing that.
"The lads have been a credit to themselves all season they always bounce back and, for example, the result at Plymouth was one of our better results of the season because we never played well on the day.
"We found a way to win, though, and that’s an important ingredient for a team to have, you must find a way."
Not that it needed confirming, but Cook acknowledged that he is fully aware of the significance of the FA Cup to everyone associated with Wigan Athletic.
"Once you have climbed Everest, it is always something you have done and for this club the FA Cup memories will never go away," he continued.
"For the majority of Wigan fans it will be the peak of their memories."
