- Pre-Season Match Report: Wigan Athletic 3 Llandudno FC 0.
- A young Latics side won 3-0 against Welsh Premier League opposition on Saturday.
- Scott Smith opened the scoring before Callum Lang netted twice to seal victory.
Latics collected a second consecutive pre-season clean sheet and maintained their unbeaten sequence thanks to a brace from Callum Lang and a well crafted goal by captain Scott Smith in an Under 23 victory over Llandudno FC on Saturday afternoon.
The 3-0 victory was by no means a simple one given the balanced nature of the first half in wet and windy conditions, but Latics rose to power through against their Welsh Premier League opponents.
Smith opened the scoring with a fine curling effort from the edge of the penalty area after clever build-up play from substitute Brad Roberts, before Roberts played a key role in Latics' second when he found striker Kyle Joseph who in turn picked out Lang to find the top corner from 10 yards.
Lang, who impressed during a loan spell in Sky Bet League Two with Morecambe FC last season, rounded off the win from the penalty spot following a Llandudno handball, allowing the forward to convert from the spot.
