Wigan Athletic and Wigan Athletic Community Trust provided another unforgettable day for supporters at #LaticsOpenDay today, highlighting the importance of families and young people to both the club and the Trust.
More than 1,600 Latics fans and local families were in attendance at the event, which showed the strength of community spirit through football and sport across Wigan Borough.
Aimed at highlighting the work of the Community Trust, activities on the day included a first team open training session, coaching sessions for youngsters led by the club’s academy coaches, various community activities, a huge autograph session, stadium tours and more.
Jonathan Jackson, Latics’ Chief Executive, said: “This year’s #LaticsOpenDay was bigger and better than last year and it was amazing to see so many of the club’s supporters enjoying themselves in the glorious sunshine.
He added: “There were a whole host of events organised by the club and the Community Trust for families to take part in, and it was just really great to see lots of smiles on people’s faces.”
