Wigan Athletic goalkeeper Owen Evans made his Under 21 international debut on Sunday in Wales' 2-2 draw against Georgia at the Mikheil Meskhi Stadium in Tbilisi.
The 21-year-old, who has represented his country at Under 19 level, stepped up as a late change ahead of kick off, impressing with a string of fine saves.
Wales fell behind in the first half to a Mikeltadze Beka goal, before Joe Morrell scored from the penalty spot and Mark Harris turned the tie around to give Rob Page's side a 2-1 lead.
Evans and his defence looked likely to see out any Georgian pressure late on, but when Cian Harries conceded a late penalty, Mikeltadze hit the target again to deny Wales the win.
Evans and his team mates will face Georgia again this Wednesday.
The best of luck to Owen from everyone at Wigan Athletic. As a club we are proud and honoured to have Owen representing his country.
