Morsy, who featured in the Pharaohs' 0-0 draw with Colombia in a warm up match on Friday, has four caps for Egypt so far and will be looking to add to his tally with Group A matches against Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and World Cup hosts Russia.
Egypt face one more preparation match ahead of the tournament when they take on former Latics player and manager Roberto Martinez's Belgium on Wednesday 6 June, before kicking off their World Cup campaign on Friday 15 June against Uruguay.
Morsy and his team mates will then face hosts Russia on Tuesday 19 June, before their final group stage match against Saudi Arabia on Monday 25 June.
All at Wigan Athletic will be following Samy's progress closely and we are immensely proud of his achievements as our captain and on the international stage.
Good luck to Samy and the Pharaohs.
