A celebratory event for over 50’s will take place at the DW Stadium on Thursday 5th July 2018 as part of this year's first-ever Greater Manchester Festival of Ageing.

Funded by Ambition for Ageing and the Big Lottery Fund, the event is part of the club’s commitment to becoming a more age-friendly organisation, with the Festival of Ageing aiming to empower people to live more fulfilling lives and to reduce social isolation across the region.

The DW Stadium celebration will take place from 12pm-4pm, with activities including a walking football tournament, cycling sessions, live music, various stalls managed by local community groups and stadium tours, with free refreshments also available.

Working alongside partners Age UK Wigan Borough, Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles and Wigan Council, the event will be an opportunity for over 50’s to find out more about the activities on offer to them across the borough.
