Still unbeaten in the calendar year of 2004, Latics continued their positive progress with a confident 3-1 victory at Portman Road in the pursuit of a play-off place come the end of the 2003-04 campaign.
Jason Roberts, Nathan Ellington and Gary Teale all hit the mark before Shefki Kuqi grabbed a consolation. Latics ended the game with 10 men following the dismissal of Leighton Baines.

In a spell when Latics looked simply unstoppable in the Championship and the FA Cup, Uwe Rosler's men travelled to Ipswich Town with high hopes of making it six consecutive victories in the league and eight in all competitions.
Despite an early set back to a Tommy Smith goal, James McClean had Latics level within minutes and Leon Barnett had the visitors ahead before the break.
Confidence was flowing and so were Latics' attacks, with McClean netting his second to help see the game out for a 3-1 victory.
