Our countdown to #FixtureReleaseDay on Thursday 21 June continues, with our tenth instalment of Three of a Kind focusing on previous clashes with Leeds United.
Leeds United 0 Wigan Athletic 2 - Sunday 31 October 2004
In our first meeting for 17 years and the club's first ever trip to Leeds United's Elland Road, 3,222 travelling Latics supporters witnessed a vintage display from Paul Jewell's side, which not only ensured a first ever victory against Leeds, but also went a long way towards the end goal of promotion in the 2004-05 season.
Alan Mahon's rocket from outside the area and a clinical counter attack and precise finish from Jimmy Bullard put the hosts to the sword in the second half to ensure a fifth straight victory in the Championship.
The 2-0 win was our 16th of 17 matches unbeaten from the start of the season, an incredible sequence which played a big part in Latics' rise to the Premeir League come the end of the campaign.

Wigan Athletic 3 Leeds United 0 - Saturday 19 February 2005
Paul Jewell's men completed the double over Leeds United in 2004-05 with a convincing 3-0 victory at the JJB Stadium, Alan Mahon once again provided a sensational finish against our Yorkshire opponents, this time rounding off the game with Latics' third of the afternoon.
Nathan Ellington gave the hosts the lead inside 10 minutes with a typically cool finish from Gary Teale's precise cross, before strike partner Jason Roberts doubled Latics' lead early in the second half with a slice of good fortune to deflect Lee McCulloch's initial effort beyond Neil Sullivan.
After watching Roberts thump the inside of the post with an original effort, Irishman Mahon picked up on a loose ball in the second phase of play to lash home Latics' third with 15 minutes to play.

The striker's fourth of five in 2013-14 helped clinch one of three crucial victories towards the end of the campaign, ensuring Uwe Rosler's men remained on track for the Championship play-offs.
