Wigan Athletic 3 Reading 2 - Saturday 24 November 2012
After falling behind 10 minutes from half time to a Sean Morrison header, little did we know what was to come in the second 45... a perfect hat-trick from Jordi Gomez and a crucial win during our latest Premier League campaign.
The Spanish playmaker came under some degree of criticism from the home support in the first half, but he turned opinions a full 360 when he equalised and then gave Latics the lead with, of all things, a diving header!
A mistake by goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi allowed Reading back into the game with 11 minutes to play, but everything Gomez was touching turned to gold, and in second half stoppage time he swept home his third to complete Latics' third hat-trick in the Premier League and to secure a vintage top flight win.

Wigan Athletic 3 Reading 0 - Friday 18 April 2014
With a Sky Bet Championship play-off push still to consider, goals from Jordi Gomez, Martyn Waghorn and Callum McManaman provided the perfect tonic following Latics' cruel FA Cup semi-final defeat to Arsenal at Wembley the previous weekend.
A penalty shootout defeat might have made other teams crumble in the league, but not Uwe Rosler's Latics, who were 2-0 up before the break courtesy of Gomez and Waghorn, before McManaman rounded off the win shortly after the break on a glorious Good Friday afternoon at the DW Stadium.
Victory left Latics needing just one more win to secure a spot in the play-offs, something they acheived away at Birmingham City thanks to McManaman.
Latics: Al Habsi, Boyce, Perch, Barnett, Maloney (Fortune 72), Gomez, McManaman, McArthur, Espinoza (Collison 84), Beausejour, Waghorn (Powell 73)
Subs: Carson, Kiernan, McClean, Maynard
Reading: McCarthy, Gunter, Pearce, Morrison, Hector, Obita, McAnuff (Robson-Kanu 55), McCleary (Le Fondre 84), Akpan, Williams (Blackman 55), Pogrebnyak
