WIGAN ATHLETIC ANNOUNCE THREE-YEAR KIT PARTNERSHIP WITH PUMA

27 June 2018

Latics to link up with kit manufacturer PUMA for the next three years as the club goes retro with its kit for the 2018-19 season.

  • Wigan Athletic announce three-year kit partnership with PUMA
  • Latics join the likes of Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Burnley by signing with Puma, in a partnership that will deliver a significant investment to the football club.
  • PUMA were Latics’ kit partner when Dave Whelan bought the football club in 1995, the start of an incredible journey.

Wigan Athletic are delighted to announce a new three-year kit partnership with PUMA, taking effect from the start of the 2018-19 season.

The deal will see PUMA design bespoke Home and Away kits for the Latics’ 2018-19 return to the Sky Bet Championship, as well as producing a brand-new range of training and leisure wear.

Latics join the likes of Arsenal, Borussia Dortmund and Burnley by signing with Puma, in a partnership that will deliver a significant investment to the football club.

PUMA worked with Wigan Athletic between 1995 and 1998, when they designed the now iconic shirt, as worn by the three amigos, Roberto Martinez, Jesus Seba and Isidro Diaz. Aligning with the period in which Dave Whelan bought the club, the kit of that era sits as one of the most popular in our history as it marked the beginning of an incredible journey from near non-existence to the Premier League, winning the FA Cup and European football.

Speaking on the deal, Wigan Athletic Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson said: “We are delighted to announce this exciting partnership with PUMA, who are undoubtedly a market leader within the sport and lifestyle industry.”

“We have worked hard to secure this deal and look forward to developing a productive partnership over the next three years”

Paul Spencer, General Manager, PUMA UKIB added: “We’re very proud to welcome Wigan Athletic back into the PUMA family and are excited to bring our technical performance excellence to a club with such tradition and sense of community. We look forward to a strong and successful partnership with The Latics as they celebrate their return to the Championship.”
