The latest fitness and injury news ahead of Latics' trip to Bury.
- Team news: Bury v Wigan Athletic.
- Samy Morsy away on international duty with Egypt.
- Shaun MacDonald making good progress with 90 minutes for the Development Squad.
Latics have a fully fit squad to choose from ahead of the trip to the Energy Check Stadium, with only one absence in the form of Samy Morsy who continues to carry out his international duties with Egypt.
Midfielder Shaun MacDonald delivered a positive 90 minutes in the Central League Cup final against Mansfield Town on Tuesday, returning from a knee injury picked up in his previous return from a long-term broken leg.
Speaking to iFollow Latics at the Wigan Athletic Training Centre, first team coach Anthony Barry spoke of the Wales international's return to action:
"It was fantastic for Shaun to play because he had a setback not too long ago which was tough for both us and for him. He’s been a massive miss for us as he’s a great player and a fantastic lad around the place so it was nice for him to get back on the pitch.
"He hit all the scores we wanted him to with his running and his distance, so it was a landmark day for Shaun."
