The debate continued for a good length of time at Ewood Park post-match, who got Latics' first goal?
Michael Jacobs and Will Grigg both put claims to it as Jacobs fired towards goal before a deflection off either Grigg or Charlie Mulgrew diverted the ball beyond David Raya.
Speaking to iFollow Latics post-match, Jacobs said:
"Definitely my goal - a great strike!
"I was just happy that the ball hit the net, it was a great time for us to score having been 2-0 down. It's another one for me, I am really happy with it.
"Will will always score more than me, he's a natural finisher, I just try and deflect them in but it is another goal and that's fantastic."
Will didn't agree, though:
"Rules are rules, I have touched it unfortunately for the big man - I am happy for him to take it if that works out.
"Like he said, the goal came at a great time and we were really pleased.
"It was a massive point for us; they scored with their first attack and it was a big blow for us -we didn't get going until after half-time.
"We said in the dressing room, though, that the next goal was massive and I think you could tell by the players and the atmosphere around the place that as soon as we got that, I think there was only one team going to win it."
