The first friendly for Hector Cuper’s side takes place in Kuwait on Saturday 26 May before Morsy’s side travel to Italy to face Colombia at the home of Atalanta on Friday 1 June. The final preparation match takes place on Wednesday 6 June in Brussels, where Morsy’s side face Roberto Martinez’s Belgium.
At the finals, Morsy’s side will face Uruguay, hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia in their group stage.
Speaking about his call-up, Morsy said:
“I wouldn’t have got the call up without the manager, the assistant, the coach and all first team staff, who have helped me with my game all season.
“The players have also been great this season and made sure we all had a successful season. The Egypt staff watch and review all my games so it was important I had a good campaign.”
We are immensely proud of Samy’s continued achievements and wish him well with his country.
