THOUSANDS OF JOURNEYS. ONE DESTINATION. - WILL GRIGG

14 May 2018

Will Grigg has 61 Latics goals and only has eyes for more.

"It's no secret that the club means a lot to me and it's something that is really special to me. I've got a bond with the fans and everyone involved at the club." - The words of Will Grigg as he gets ready to embark on his fourth season at Wigan Athletic, and what a journey it has been for the two-time Latics Golden Boot winner.

You can watch Will describe his journey in blue and white through the video above, but here are some of the standout facts and figures from our number nine's time at the club so far...

Winner of this season's Goal of the Season for his beautifully taken strike in our 1-0 victory over Manchester City in the Emirates FA Cup at the DW Stadium in February, Will Grigg has now scored 61 goals in 132 games in all competitions for Latics, eight of which have been in the famous old cup, earning him the place of the club's highest goal scorer in the competition since our election to the EFL, one above David Lowe.

Grigg's goal scoring prowess in the league now has him on 49 goals in 116 appearances, putting him fifth in our highest ever league goal scorers chart behind Andy Liddell, David Lowe, Peter Houghton and Nathan Ellington.

Will's 19 goals in Sky Bet League One in 2017/18 lifted him above the likes of Ian Kilford, Paul Jewell, Graham Barrow, Jason Roberts, Phil Daley, Stuart Barlow, Simon Haworth, Graeme Jones, Bryan Griffiths and Lee McCulloch.

The striker's next target will be goals scored at the DW Stadium, with the 26-year-old now only five home goals away from breaking Ellington's current record of 41, with Liddell in second on 39.

It could be another landmark season for the man on fire... but will you be joining him on the journey into the Sky Bet Championship?
