23 May 2018

Latics duo nominated for PFA Fans' Player of the Year award 2018.

Wigan Athletic duo Nick Powell and Christian Walton have both been nominated for the Bristol Street Motors PFA Fans' League One Player of the Year for 2017/18!

Back the boys by voting here as they go up against some of the best of the rest in the division from Latics' Sky Bet League One title winning campaign.

In a record-breaking campaign, Christian Walton kept 19 of Latics' 27 clean sheets in League One, a club record for clean sheets in a single season, with the Brighton & Hove Albion loanee also helping to set an all competitions record with two clean sheets in the Emirates FA Cup adding to Jamie Jones' nine in total.

The 22-year-old featured 31 times for Paul Cook's side on the way to the League One title, as well as featuring four times in the Emirates FA Cup in which he earned shutouts against Premier League champions Manchester City and earlier in the competition West Ham United.

Nick Powell's impressive form earned him 15 goals from 39 appearances in the league, with the playmaker also chipping in with six assists for his team mates.

Powell's eye for the spectacular goal and his ability to beat defences with ease has been a joy to watch in 2017/18, with his goal tally for the club now up to 28 league goals and 33 in all competitions.

Vote now for Nick Powell or Christian Walton as PFA Fans' League One Player of the Year.
