Max Power and Jamie Walker progress in the Emirates FA Cup, but it's defeat for Devante Cole and a replay for Joe Piggott.
- Loan Round-Up: Latics' players involved in Emirates FA Cup first round action.
- Power and Sunderland, and Walker and Peterborough progress to the second round.
- Cole and Burton knocked out, Piggott and Morecambe face a replay, with Lang and Oldham to play tonight.
Midfielder Max Power made his return from suspension in Sunday's 2-1 Emirates FA Cup first round victory against Port Vale, with the Sunderland midfielder introduced in the 71st minute at Vale Park, featuring alongside former Latics men Jerome Sinclair and Reece James.
After scoring in last weekend's 3-1 victory against Walsall in Sky Bet League One, Devante Cole was unable to add to his Burton Albion tally on Saturday afternoon as the Brewers fell to a 2-1 defeat away at Scunthorpe United, ending their Emirates FA Cup campaign in the first round.
Cole featured for the full 90 minutes in a match which saw former Latics defender James Perch on target for The Iron.
Latics' attacking midfielder was an unused substitute as Peterborough United progressed into the second round of the Emirates FA Cup thanks to a 3-1 away victory against Bromley on Saturday.
Development Squad striker Joe Piggott, who scored last week for Latics against Port Vale, wasn't in the match day squad for Morecambe FC as they drew 0-0 at home to non-league Halifax, meaning the Shrimps still have a chance at progression in the Emirates FA Cup with a replay at the Shay to come.
Development Squad forward Callum Lang is in Emirates FA Cup first round action tonight (Monday) when his Oldham Athletic side travel to Hampton and Richmond.
