It only seems like yesterday, but 10 years ago today Emmerson Boyce's powerful header beat Scott Carson, to not only win Latics three crucial Premier League points against West Bromwich Albion, but to open the defender's account in blue and white.
The goal, from Jason Koumas' late corner, was Boycey's first for three years and first of 13 for the club who he would later go on to lead out to huge Premier League victories and of course the 2013 FA Cup final.
This week the 39-year-old dropped us a line on the latest episode of our podcast, Latics Listen, to reflect on that moment, give his thoughts on the current team, reminisce about derby days gone by and focus on this weekend's visit to near neighbours Bolton Wanderers.
Catch Boycey, Gary Roberts, Callum McManaman, James Vaughan and Latics fan David Naylor on this week's episode below.
