England's Under 17s impressed yet again on Tuesday night as they ran out 3-1 winners against Brazil at AFC Telford to claim their third win out of three games in an international mini-tournament.
Joe Gelhardt and Jensen Weir both featured as second half substitutes for Steve Cooper's side, as England added to previous 3-1 and 3-0 wins against USA and Russia respectively.
Gelhardt, who has seven goals for Latics' U18s this season, scored three goals in the tournament to take his tally for England U17s to six goals in six appearances, with one goal in the opening game against USA last Friday and a double against Russia's U18s on Sunday afternoon.
Weir, who is Latics' youngester ever first team player having made his debut in last season's Checkatrade Trophy as a 15-year-old, and Gelhardt will be hoping that their hard work can earn them spots in Cooper's UEFA U17 European Championship qualifying squad when England enter the elite stage next March.
Latics' U18s return to action with a trip to Tranmere Rovers this Saturday as they aim to make it 10 wins from their opening 10 fixtures in all competitions.
