Joe Gelhardt and Jensen Weir continued their international development with England's U17s on Sunday afternoon, with striker Gelhardt netting twice in a 3-0 victory against Russia's U18s, whilst midfielder Weir commanded in the middle for the full 90 minutes.
Gelhardt added to England's opener with two goals in the final 15 minutes of the first half at Shrewsbury Town's Montgomery Waters Meadow, taking his tally up to six goals in five games following his fourth goal for his country in Friday night's 3-1 win against USA.
Gelhardt, who has featured in around 250 minutes for England at U17 level, beat two Russia defenders before finding the bottom left corner for 2-0 following Haydon Roberts' opener. He added his second three minutes later by finding the opposite corner with another low effort.
Latics' England duo will now face their final game of the tournament on Tuesday evening against Brazil U17 at AFC Telford.
