Latics' impressive Academy achievements continued on Wednesday afternoon, with Under 18 duo Kyle Joseph and Luke Robinson making their international debuts for Scotland's Under 18s.
Billy Stark's newly formed group drew 1-1 against Uzbekistan in Marbella, with Aberdeen's Ethan Ross on target in the first half.
Full back Robinson played the full 90 minutes, with Joseph introduced in the 80th minute and desperately close to scoring a winning goal on his first appearance.
Robinson and Joseph are in the first year of their scholarship, with the latter in red-hot goal scoring form in the EFL Youth Alliance, netting 10 goals so far this season. Joseph has also notched twice for the Development Squad.
Head of Academy, Gregor Rioch, said of the achievements:
"Luke and Kyle have both worked incredibly hard following their transition to full time football and seeing them recognised with international honours is testament to that hard work and the work put in behind the scenes at the Academy.
"Creating players and people worthy of international recognition is something we pride ourselves on and at the moment we have four active internationals within our Under 18s, with more call-ups on the horizon."
Fellow U18s Jensen Weir and Joe Gelhardt will continue their international careers over the next five days, with England Under 17 fixtures against USA, Russia and Brazil, whilst Robinson and Joseph will feature again on Friday against France.
