Back to winning ways & buzzing to get off the mark for @OfficialOAFC tonight 🙌🏻 🔵— Callum Lang (@callumlang10) October 9, 2018
Callum Lang got his and Oldham Athletic's account up and running on Tuesday night when he opened the scoring in the Latics' comfortable 4-1 victory at Bradford City in the Checkatrade Trophy group stage.
The 20-year-old scored after just 10 minutes when he turned in Sam Surridge's square pass inside the Bantams' penalty area.
Mohamed Maouche doubled Oldham's lead and Surridge netted a brace after Bradford's Kai Brunker initially halved his side's deficit. Lang completed the 90 minutes and will be hoping his first goal for the club can be the platform to score his first league goal at Boundary Park.
Oldham are top of their group on three points from two matches.
Jamie Walker - Peterborough United
Attacking midfielder Jamie Walker played 80 minutes in Peterborough United's 2-2 draw against Brighton & Hove Albion U21s, with the Posh losing 5-4 on penalties as Brighton claimed a bonus point in the Checkatrade Trophy group stage.
Matt Godden and Jason Cummings had Peterborough 2-0 to the good, only for Aaron Connolly and Jordan Davies to drag the Seagulls level.
The Posh are second in the group on two points from two matches.
Joe Piggott - Morecambe
Morecambe looked certain to face an early exit from the Checkatrade Trophy after a 2-1 defeat at home to Stoke City U21s on Tuesday evening.
Striker Joe Piggott featured for 81 minutes at the Globe Arena, but couldn't help the Shrimps as they fell to their second defeat of the group stage.
Ollie Shenton gave the visitors the lead early on before Jason Oswell equalised for the hosts. Tyrese Campbell netted the winner for the young Potters, leaving Morecambe bottom of the group on zero points.
Devante Cole - Burton Albion
Ricky Miller scored the only goal as Port Vale won 1-0 against Devante Cole's Burton Albion, leaving the Brewers in third place in their group with zero points from their opening two matches.
Striker Cole featured for the full 90 minutes, making his sixth appearance during the defeat at Vale Park.
