Devante Cole and Jamie Walker
It was a battle of Latics loan players on Saturday afternoon in Sky Bet League One as Jamie Walker's Peterborough United came out 2-1 winners against Devante Cole's Burton Albion.
Cole featured for the full 90 minutes at the Pirelli Stadium, with Walker on as a 65th minute substitute for the Posh.
Joe Ward and Siriki Dembele gave Peterborough a 2-0 lead, with Jamie Allen on target for the Brewers.
Victory closes the gap for Steve Evans' men, with Posh now just two points behind league leaders Portsmouth who drew 1-1 away at Accrington Stanley, whilst Burton sit 16th on 18 points, four points clear of Oxford United in the relegation zone.
After his goal scoring heroics in midweek, Callum Lang faced defeat at the weekend courtesy of first half goals from John Joe O'Toole and Kevin van Veen in Oldham Athletic's 2-1 loss away at Northampton Town.
Lang featured for the full 90 minutes against the Cobblers who had to play for 50 minutes with ten men following the dismisall of Sam Foley, but even a Rob Hunt goal with 18 minutes to play couldn't help the Latics recover from the first half.
Oldham dropped to 15th in Sky Bet League Two and are now seven points from the play-off places.
Midfielder Luke Burgess suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Barnet with his National League side Barrow AFC, with goals from Manny Duku and Wesley Fonguck earning victory for the visitors. Burgess featured for the full 90 minutes.
Barrow sit 13th in the table on 21 points, 11 points off the play-off places and nine points clear of the relegation zone.
