Wigan Athletic captain Samy Morsy has been selected as one of 12 none-Egypt based players for his national team squad ahead of October fixtures against Swaziland in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Pharaohs take on the King's Shield on Friday 12 October and Tuesday 16 October, entering the double-header in second place in their qualification group after a 1-0 away defeat to Tunisia and a 6-0 thrashing of Niger at home.
Morsy, who has six caps for Egypt, featured in the 2018 FIFA World Cup opener against Russia in the summer and has started the season in great form with Latics.
The 27-year-old scored a stunning opener in Latics' recent 2-1 victory against Hull City at the DW Stadium and was named Man of the Match in our 1-0 win against Bristol City live on Sky Sports.
