Latics fans are being urged to support people facing homelessness, poverty or debt crisis across Wigan and Leigh at home match days this season by donating food and toiletries to The Brick’s collection point at the DW Stadium.
The Brick have been named the club’s charity of the season for a second year, with the aim of raising £100,000 to buy The Brick Works centre, which will secure its long-term future.
Supporters are encouraged to bring items such as tinned meat and fish, cereal, tinned beans, soup, vegetables, packet meals and toiletries to both games this week, where representatives from The Brick will have a collection van outside the South East corner of the DW Stadium as well as volunteers bucket collecting.
Helping thousands of people in need across the borough, The Brick provide a safe, solid building block for those in crisis to begin to construct a new life and become valuable members of society.
Latics Chief Executive Jonathan Jackson said: “We’re delighted to partner with The Brick once again this season to help tackle homelessness, poverty and debt crisis across the borough. There were a number of highlights from last year’s partnership, and we look forward to working with the charity this season to raise the funds needed to secure their long-term future.”
