As far as starts to a new season go, last night’s was a belter!
A total of 80 men with a BMI of 27.5 or over from across the borough took part in Wigan Athletic Community Trust’s first Man v Fat football session.
The 16-week scheme, which is part of Wigan Council and Inspiring healthy lifestyle’s Lose Weight, Feel Great campaign, saw the first round of matches take place at Wigan Soccerdome.
The programme consists of weekly football sessions in a league format, and aims to provide weight loss motivation, diet tips and weight loss transformations for men fighting against fat.
Please note that the first league is now full with 80 participants, but don’t worry as there’s still plenty of options to choose from if you want to kick-start your health journey.
