  • Danny Fox and Anthony Pilkington returned last weekend and continue to get stronger.
  • Michael Jacobs set to miss the remainder of the season.

WIGAN ATHLETIC

Latics were handed a double-boost in last weekend's 0-0 draw against Brentford FC, with the return of Danny Fox to the starting XI following a knee injury and the return of Anthony Pilkington from a similar problem from the bench.

Unfortunately for Latics, Michael Jacobs was the man replaced by Pilkington after picking up a hamstring injury which, as revealed by Paul Cook in his press conference on Friday morning, will see the 27-year-old out for the remainder of the season.

Gary Roberts and Callum McManaman will also be missing from the squad due to injury, with the latter undergoing an operation on a hernia.

Should Pilkington feature in any capacity, he will be making his 400th career appearance.

You can hear from both Danny Fox and Anthony Pilkington on the latest episode of our podcast, Latics Listen, alongside Latics season card holder Bob Allen!

BRISTOL CITY

Forward Jamie Paterson returned to the starting XI in place of midfielder Korey Smith for Bristol City's 1-0 victory away at Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening, with Smith introduced as a substitute at half time, before being replaced late on after a recurrence of his previous injury.

Elsewhere, Andy Weimann suffered a foot injury after a collision with former Robins defender Aden Flint on Tuesday, with the Austrian forward being monitored ahead of the weekend.
