Latics had an appeal against Cedric Kipre's suspension following his controversial red card in Good Friday's 2-1 victory against Leeds United at Elland Road turned down on Sunday evening. The defender will miss one match.
The centre back was sent off after just 14 minutes for an alleged hand ball on the goal line, from which Christian Walton tipped Pablo Hernandez's penalty onto the post.
Latics went on to win the contest 2-1 despite playing with ten men for 76 minutes plus stoppage time.
Another defender Latics are waiting on news from is Danny Fox, who missed Friday's victory after picking up a knock to his knee in the 1-1 draw with Norwich City at the DW Stadium.
Anthony Pilkington, Callum McManaman (hernia) and Michael Jacobs (hamstring) remain sidelined, but Gary Roberts did recover to take a place on the bench last time out.
