Lang on target for the 12th time this season, whilst Da Silva Lopes and Gillingham edge closer to safety.

  • Loan Update: Four of Latics' loan players in action on Saturday 30 March.
  • Callum Lang scored and set one up in Oldham Athletic's 2-0 win against Grimsby Town.
  • Leo Da Silva Lopes played 90 minutes in Gillingham's 1-1 draw against Rochdale.

Callum Lang - Oldham Athletic

Life after Paul Scholes started in style for Development Squad striker Callum Lang, who set up Oldham Athletic's opener and headed in the second as the Latics won 2-0 at home against Grimsby Town in Sky Bet League Two.

Lang's cross from the right was diverted in by Chris O'Grady for 1-0 three minutes before half time at Boundary Park, before he put the result beyond doubt when he beat everyone in the air to head home from a corner in the 77th minute with his 12th of the season in all competitions.

The Latics now sit 15th in League Two on 51 points, 10 from the play offs with a game in hand on seventh place Exeter City.

Leo Da Silva Lopes - Gillingham

The Gills are slowly but surely edging away from one of the tightest relegation battles in Sky Bet League One history and their point at home to Rochdale marks another on the board during the run-in.

Leo Da Silva Lopes featured for the full 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw, with Mark Byrne on target in first half stoppage time to equaliser following Ian Henderson's opener 10 minutes earlier.

Gillingham are now 13th in the table on 48 points, six points clear of Walsall who sit in 21st.

Tylor Golden and Jordan Perrin both featured in the Evo-Stik First Division West on Saturday, with full back Golden involved in a 2-1 home defeat for Droylsden FC against Trafford, whilst goalkeeper Perrin played in a 2-1 home defeat for Runcorn Linnets against Ramsbottom United.

James Vaughan was an unused substitute as Portsmouth won the Checkatrade Trophy final at Wembley Stadium following a penalty shootout against Sunderland, whilst Olly Crankshaw missed out on Curzon Ashton's 4-1 away defeat against Boston United in the National League North and Joe Piggott returned to Latics following his spell at Altrincham FC due to an injury.
