All at Wigan Athletic were saddened to learn of the death of our former player Peter Skipper on Tuesday, at the age of 61.
Skipper spent the majority of his career with hometown club Hull City, where he was a fans’ favourite, playing in excess of 300 games for the Tigers.
After spells with Hull City, Darlington, Oldham Athletic, Walsall and Wrexham, Skipper signed for Latics towards the end of the 1991-92 season and featured 18 times before moving to Non-League with Stafford Rangers.
He returned to Springfield Park in November 1992 and was a virtual ever-present until he finished his professional career in 1994.
Most recently, Peter worked as part of the matchday hospitality team at Hull’s KCOM Stadium. He will be sadly missed by those who knew him and our thoughts go out to his family and friends at this sad time.
