  • James gained 42% of the votes from Latics supporters.
  • Joe Garner and Michael Jacobs came second and third respectively.

Chelsea FC loanee Reece James has won the club's Player of the Month award, sponsored by Currys PC World Wigan, scooping the March vote with 42%.

James, who has featured in all 40 of Latics' Sky Bet Championship fixtures so far this season, played a mixture of right back and central midfield during March, with Latics earning five points thanks to 0-0 draws against Middlesbrough and Brentford FC and an emphatic 5-2 victory over Bolton Wanderers.

The 19-year-old set up Joe Garner for Latics' first goal on derby day and now has three assists to his name this season.

James, who has now won the Player of the Month award four times, was also recently named in the EFL's Football Manager Team of the Season for the Sky Bet Championship at the annual EFL Awards.

The England Under 20 international has scored twice for Latics this season, including a sure-fire April Kingdom Latics Goal of the Month contender and Goal of the Season contender in our recent 2-2 draw against Bristol City.
